Iva Bogdanova Vandergheynst, artistically known as ‘BogdiFy’, is a Bulgarian-born artist based in Lausanne, Switzerland. She is a graduate in Electrical Engineering and holds a PhD.
BogdiFy creates abstract artworks that are characterized by a vibrant use of color, texture, and gestural brushwork. Her paintings are typically non-representational, meaning that they do not depict recognizable objects or subjects. Instead, they focus on the formal elements of art, such as line, shape, color.
BogdiFy’s style can be described as gestural abstraction or abstract expressionism, as her paintings often feature energetic brushstrokes and a sense of spontaneity and improvisation. Her use of mixed media, including acrylics, aquarelle, and spray paint, adds to the complexity and richness of her artworks.
Overall, BogdiFy’s style is characterized by a sense of freedom and experimentation, as she creates dynamic and visually engaging paintings that evoke emotions and sensations rather than specific images or narratives.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“My paintings tell the story about my love of creation.
My art is one of my communication tools. If I grabbed someone’s personality and evoked an emotion, I feel I am successful with this kind of communication. It is like transforming the invisible into visible for the viewer. I want my painting to transpose you in a timeless reality, making you part of the abstract impressionistic movement”
